Tola was a man who works as a private lesson teacher. He has a friend who he lives with and they work together. Although he was not really happy with the work he does because he still rides a bicycle and sometimes the doors are not been opened to him but he hopes for the best. Often they send mails to their box for any new job.
His alarm bell rang at 6:30am. He stumbled to his feet, grab his friend's bedding and pulled off his sheets. He groaned asking, “Is it already time to arise?”. It seems just like a second ago, I was able to close my eyes. Tola ignoring his question, urged him to stand up. The morning activities follows with study, prayer, worship and every other things. When it was time to leave the apartment, Tola felt he could not accomplish more even though he was more committed than his friend.
As they stepped out of the house, his friend said with a smile, “We have a super day planned”, he lowly utter a faithless breath yes, If anyone let us in. They took their bicycle and rode off.
It was already 9:30pm, the day was almost through. Tola and his friend were riding home not able to accomplish what they hoped for. They rode up to the mail box hoping to receive a letter, only to look inside and find a empty box. They left for their apartment with total silence and they greeted each other good night.
When it was 10:30pm, his friend was fast asleep. He began to weep in the midst of sadness. He knelt down to pray for he needs to talk to his Father but was not sure of what to say. He poured out his heart saying ; “Oh Father, what happened to us today?. I thought we would teach somebody but, everyone was away. My hands aches and hurt. Why on earth are the days so much alike?. The only difference about today was the flat tire on my bike. And what about my family, they don't have much to say. I am sick of not hearing from home day after day. Oh Father!, why am I here?. I don't know what to do this is my prayer to you, Jesus".
He stood up, wiped his tears and layed on the bed. Gradually, sleep took over him and a vision took him to another time in another day where he meet with Christ and He told him; “I know how you felt when no one listened to you. I know you don't like to ride a bicycle, For you a car would be sweet. Just remember the donkey I rode was not equipped with speed. Your hands hurt from tracting and knocking of doors all day. When they pierced nails into mine, It ached in a similar way. It is hard not to hear from home when your family is not there to see but I lost communication on the cross and cried “Father, why hast thou forsaken me?.
We have a lot in common, but there is a difference between us. You see, I endured to the end and finished my mission. So follow and do like me.
Immediately he stood with wonder when a beep rang in his head. Listening, he heard the alarm, then realized he was in his bed. His friend shouted “It's 6:30am already, no way!. Tola sat up and reminds himself that he has not done his morning activities.
No matter what you go through, when you feel you can't take it anymore. Just stop and think about Jesus Christ.
*HE HAS BEEN THERE*
