What do you see when you look into a mirror?
What exactly do you see?
Do you see a face of grace
or the belief of grief?
Do you see a blessing of success
or a complete loser?
When a girl looks into a mirror,
she sees fat, shapeless
so she pays the bills for her diet pills.
She sees a bittered being,
so she touches up her make-up
and compares what she wears.
She sees undeserving,
so she reclaims the blame
and hides herself from any affection or connection.
She looks into a mirror, she sees unloved,
so she read through books on how she should look.
Though it seems fair,
her heart is never really there because she is yet to believe it
She sees weak,
so she hides, closing her feelings
and turns into someone so hard.
She sees disappointment,
so she confides in every of their lies,
and her fears become her tears wishing it could end.
She looks into the mirror,
What do you see? Or do you just allow the face you see to speak:
You're not good enough,
you're not smart enough,
you're not strong enough.
You can never be
enough...
Dear Sisters,
Nod your head
and tell yourself no.
Look deeper again and tell yourself,
There's more to you
There is a strength you hold,
your beauty untold,
your love unfading,
a passion you hide,
a light living inside.
It's you and you are full of glory.
A mirror is just glass,
and you are so much more.
So take over when looking into the mirror
Don't let those little words belittle you.
There's so much attached to your existence.
Don't be swayed.
