*THE BRIDGE*
"Oohhhhh God" Ebere said as she hit her desk in the office and fear gripped the heart of everyone who heard the sound. They looked at her and looked at each other as they continued with their work.
Ebere became restless as she picked up her bag and moved out of the office without greeting anyone, unlike the other days
"Biko (Please), what is wrong with your friend again? This time, she came in a different dimension. I just pray she don't harm herself" Praise, (one of the worker)said
"Abi o. She has been acting strange nowadays and I can sense there is no peace within her but, I really want to know what happened.
Let me quickly meet up with her. I will see you later and please, help me take my shift in case I don't come on time" Amarachi said as she quickly pack her things and pick her car keys
"See them o. Bird of the same feathers. I just pray you don't kill yourself. Is like you worry too much about her than yourself. Assuming you are a man now, I will talk say you like am but you are not ehn and I don't understand the connection between the both of you. Well, that is your own business. Concerning your shift, I hope I get something from you miss senser. You know now" praise said and winked
"I know everyone can't be like me and can't think the way I do. It's not an insult but that's just the fact. I have heard you, I will get something on my way back. All I am doing is because I care and if you are in the same position as Ebere, I will do the same. So no discrimination here and don't compare me with anyone" Amarachi said as she walked out of the office
"Okay madam... just don't forget me and don't worry, I can't be in the same position as Ebere. I am okay and doing well" Praise said loud as she was leaving the office.
Amarachi drove the car and checked around, till she finally saw her standing by at a junction. She horned and Ebere moved closer to catch a glimpse of the person. She was surprised as she saw Amarachi and moved back
"No, don't ..please come in" Amarachi said as she persuaded her and she entered the car. She drove her to a nice place, where they can discuss
"Please, what am I doing here. Can you take me home? Ebere asked
"Relax, I can't kill you. I only brought you here, so that we can talk" Amarachi said
"Talk...about what? Ebere asked as Amarachi urged her to step out and she lead the way.
After getting something to drink, they started discussing. Amarachi decided to throw the question " Ebere, what's going on with you? Her look changed as she asked the question.
"I am trying. In fact, I am trying my best every time to always do something's to impress the boss but, its just that Ada is always doing more and I can't meet up. Trust me, I am doing my best to deliver my work well. Even with my time but I just wonder how Ada does it, she always have something new to deliver while I have to quickly think of what to do at least, we are both given the same duty" Ebere said angrily
"Hmmm....Ebere, you are on a bridge" Amarachi said
"A bridge? No am not, its just that I feel somehow when she has something to always deliver and I don't. So, I quickly have to find something to do" Ebere said as she was worried and confused
"Ebere, I understand you and that's why I am saying you are on a bridge. A bridge that is about to collapse and when it does, you will be greatly affected and you will never see the result.
A bridge that will lead you to a journey of being abandoned by people and sometimes, warn people never to go that way. Its on that same bridge you are and if you aren't careful, the end of it will be disastrous to your life and destiny" Amarachi said
"Please, can you make me understand what bridge is that? Ebere asked sincerely
"You are on a bridge of competition...." Amarachi said as Ebere sighed, looking soberly
"Please, what can I do? What is the way out? Ebere asked
To my dear sisters,
It's time for you to cross that bridge, if you are on it before it collapse and destroy you. A lot of people are like Ebere, they are after being recognised. They are anxious of what others do and they are not doing it.
You don't have to rush,
You just have to simply live your life at His pace. Enough of getting yourself headaches because you haven't posted anything for a while and you see a dear sister, who is passionately reaching out to her people. You now become destabilized, looking for books, movies, etc to read and watch to give you rhema. So that you can quickly post something.
Let me tell you something,
Yes people will like it and also be blessed by it but deeply within you there is no peace because you still have to sought for a way to meet up which will lead to an unpeaceful, unnecessary race and fear of what people will say or think.
This is what the bridge of competition will do to you and immediately, you can't meet up. It will collapse and you will get worried.
There is always a time and season. All you have to do, is to know which you are and stop comparing your assignment/vision with anybody. Move at God's pace for your life, He can decide to say okay, this month I just need you to be on a retreat and be silent for a while, I am doing something's and by the time you come out, you are coming out richly and bountifully but it's a pity that people only hear about this but don't practice it.
*John 7: 3-6*
Jesus played an example for us, the Jews was telling Him to go into Judea to show forth His work, so that people can see it but Jesus said "my time is not yet come but your time is always ready"
Another thing to take note is that, don't let the words of people or what you see, push you on the bridge because with time, you won't be able to meet up.
Those people giving you advice's against what you know, their time is always ready. Know when your time is so that, you won't keep pushing yourself to do things which you ought not to do all in the name of impressing others. I know you what your page to grow and also to increase in all but these, doesn't lie in competition.
It's moving in the father's (God's) pace and this is the same thing Jesus was trying to communicate in *John 7:6*
I pray God continue to strengthen and help us all...
I pray we won't just be the reader but the doer of the word in Jesus Name....Amen!!!
Watch out the space, a book will be released.
