Episode 9
“You have to make him realize that you care and also love him. You have to apologize. Proverb 22:6 says, train up a child in the way he should go, that even when he is old, he won't depart from it. If you keep training him with beatings, there would be a time he would have to run away from us. I pray you see what I am saying and let's make things right” Mrs Alabi said to her husband.
Mr Alabi totally disagree with her and he said “Proverb 23:13-14 says, do not withhold discipline from a child, If you strike him with a rod, he will not die. Striking him would save his soul.”
“It would save his soul but not his mind. Remember, every thought begins from the mind and at his age, if the thoughts that fills his mind are bad and evil. It would definitely change his mindset and the Bible says we should study the word for the renewal of our mind. I suggest we spend time to equip him more with the word, pray for him and also use the rod when needed ” she said.
“It's your duty to do that, moreover the Bible says, when the two are joined together, they become one. So, just have it in mind that whatever you are doing, I am also doing it. We are joined together. I have no time to waste on a theft” he said and he walked towards the bathroom.
“Sincerely, it is true about what people say, a bad child belongs to the mother ” she thought as she proceed to the kitchen. She cheered herself and concentrated on what she was cooking.
Minutes later, her husband went to the kitchen to inform her he was ready to go to work. “So soon, aren't you going to eat” she asked. “No, I lost my appetite” he answered as he was walking straight to the door. “Men and their ego, I wonder why he cannot just reason with me ” She said to herself and continued her work.
