*PART THIRTY*
"Thank you Jesus for the test" Adura said as she opened the door. She checked the time, drop her bag and went inside the kitchen to prepare jollof rice for herself and Pelumi.
"Let me even call her to start coming over" she said as she picked her phone and dialed her number
"Hello, are you at home? She asked
"Yes" Adura replied
"Okay, I am coming now" she said and hanged the call
"O ga o, she didn't even allow the caller to speak" Adura said and went to check what she was cooking.
"God, please help me and let her not take every words personal" Adura prayed.
*FEW MINUTES LATER,*
"Ko ko ko...Madam prayer(the English form of ADURA), open the door" she shouted
"Hello, don't you know I stay in an estate" Adura said and opened the door
"Estate ko, survey ni" she said, as she stepped in and they both laughed.
"How was your test? Adura asked
" Fine, thank God and yours? She asked
"It was great" Adura said
"Okay" she replied
"I am coming" Adura said, as she went to the kitchen to get her food and water.
"This look yummy, thank you very much as if you know I was hungry" she said and they began to eat.
*AFTER EATING*
They began to discuss..
"Sis Pelumi...on Sunday, you said I look gorgeous. Do you really mean it? Adura asked
" Yes I do" she replied
"Do you also feel the same? Adura asked
" Hmm...yes, I am okay with my dressing. I feel okay but some people are not, especially the pastor. I can't find anything wrong with my dressing"she said
"Sis Pelumi, should I be truthful, something was wrong with your dressing. As a child of God, our dressing are not to be confirmed with that of the world because we are not of the world (John 15:19). He has chosen us out of the world.
Therefore, we dress fit and not kill. If you go for evangelism, people won't even listen to what you have to say because your dressing isn't different from theirs. Bible says in (1 Corinthians 6:19) your body is the temple of God and the spirit of God, reside in you because immediately we gave our life to Christ, our life is not ours anymore (Gal 2:20). So therefore, whatever we do and wear with our body, must glorify God as Christians.
So also, our dressing must glorify God. Don't you know your dressing attracts your kinds (people that dresses like you)" Adura said, waiting to hear her response.
"Could it be the reason, why those guys are still running to me? She said
" Hmmm, could it also be the reason why God is saying, there is more. It's not enough to receive the life of Christ, you must give all to Him. Your body, dressing, etc.
Let him be glorified through them. People are watching and what will they say about you? Adura said
"Hmmm, can you believe I never have an understanding concerning all these. I thought it's enough to serve God and still dress the way I like. Not knowing, I have to dress to glorify my father and not myself" she said
My mentor once said "Jesus is our culture. So, the way we dress, speak, etc must be the way of our culture as believers. Let's God be pleased with our dressing and not displeased......
Stay with me as we journey together
