*GROWING UP*
*Episode 2*
Growing up was not fun for Tolani. The older she was, the higher the challenges, struggles and pain she faced.
She felt bad at times that she could not get to experience a lot of things many children of her age did because of her low self-esteem. Sometimes, she was surrounded by opportunities but no boldness to step in.
At age 13, she became a witness of seeing her mum being battered by her father.
"Wow" One of Miss Bosede student said but she intentionally ignored him and continued with her discussion.
Tolani was affected emotionally, mentally, academically because of what she experienced at home.
When her father saw her scores were reducing, he became angry because he does not joke with their studies but he failed to ask what happened. And Why?
She scored less. Instead, he shouted and nagged at her and each time he does that, he created fear in her. David would always say "I hate dad" and the rest would join him in saying that but Tolani would remain silent as thousands of words were running through her mind.
With tears flowing down her face, she still encouraged her siblings.
“It is going to be fine” as she always say.
She became a source of inspiration to her siblings and she earned their respect and honor even though, she was still struggling with her esteem (her unknown personality) that none of them saw.
"What then is the definition of life to her? Kikelomo, the most gentle girl shouted from the back with tears in her eyes as she weep profusely.
Kikelomo was someone that does not shows how she feel, people hardly understood her because of her personality.
Everyone was shocked as Miss Bosede moved closer and patted her back.
" It is well dear" Miss Bosede said, and she knew she had touched a part that struck her and she could not resist the anger in her.
Miss Abosede knew today's experience was over and she told the students they would meet another time.
Your experience might not be exactly like Tolani's own but whatever it is do not give up.
