*TRAIN UP*
*Episode 7*
"You have to make him realize that you care and also love him. You have to apologize. *Proverb 22:6* says, train up a child in the way he should go, that even when he is old, he won't depart from it. If you keep training him with beatings, there would be a time that he would have to run away from us. I pray you see what I am saying, and let's make things right" Mrs Alabi said to her husband.
Mr Alabi totally disagree with her and he said " *Proverb 23:13-14* says, do not withhold discipline from a child, If you strike him with a rod, he will not die. Striking him will save him.
It would save him but not his mind".
"Remember, every thought begins from the mind and at his age, if the thoughts that fill his mind are bad and evil. It would definitely change his mindset and the Bible says, we should study the word for the renewal of our mind. I suggest we spend time to equip him more with the word, pray for him and also use the rod when needed" She said.
"It's your duty to do that. Moreover the Bible says, when the two are joined together, they become one. So, just have it in mind that whatever you are doing, I am also doing it. We are joined together. I have no time to waste on a theft" He said and he walked towards the bathroom.
"Sincerely, it is true about what people say a bad child belongs to the mother. Now, I have to face it alone.” She thought as she proceed to the kitchen.
She cheered herself and concentrated on what she was cooking. Minutes later, her husband came to the kitchen to inform her he was ready to go to work.
"So soon, aren't you going to eat? She asked.
"No, I lost my appetite" He answered as he was walking straight to the door.
"Men and their ego, I wonder why he cannot just reason with me" She said to herself and continued her work.
At exactly 6:30am, she went to her children's room to wake them up. She had packed their lunch and gathers their school bags together. The only thing remaining was to bath and serve their breakfast.
She had to go to David room twice before he stood up from the bed.
He staggered and greeted "Good morning ma".
"Good morning dear, how was your night rest? She asked
David who remembered what happened yesterday, faced down to reply her "fine ma".
“Its fine David, I understand you are ashamed and also, you feel remorse but son, when a man falls, he rise up and make sure he stays away from the things that made him fall. Make sure you are satisfied with whatever you are given. Do not repeat such thing again" She said.
He lifted up his face and he said "I promise mum" and he hugged her.
She was glad as she hurried him to leave her and go to the bathroom. He jumped up from the bed to the bathroom; she smiled and left his room.
She checked on Tolani and Ibukun to see if they were bathing and she was impressed to see them dressing up.
"Mummy is there no work today? Ibukun asked.
"Darling, there is work" She replied as she smiled.
"Wow and you are still at home? Ibukun asked.
"Well, I decided to be slightly late today, to watch after my children as they go to school" she replied as she was smiling continuously.
"Thank you mum" Ibukun said.
Mrs Alabi looked at Tolani who did not utter a word, she felt bad. She was not even looking at her. She closed the door and headed towards her room to have her bath. Tolani reflected on her words and there was this happiness in her, which could not be seen to all.
By 7:15am, everyone had eaten and ready to leave home.
Mama sneezed, and it caught their attention.
"Mama, e karo ma (Good morning ma)" Mrs Alabi said and the children also greeted.
"I don't want to disturb you, that is why i didn't wake you up and your food is in the kitchen" She said.
"I understand oko mi (my husband)" Mama said.
"I am late and we would be leaving now. If you need anything, Silver is around for you" She said as she walked towards the gate and everyone went to their separate destination.
Stay with me as we journey together
