Part Five
Arìké was commonly known as Hadassah by the people.
It was time for the meeting, as she could hear the voice of people talking and singing outside.
"Why are their voices so loud? I thought you said they are 20 people, but it seems they are more than that? Her father asked her as they were about to step out.
Daddy, they are only 20 people. Maybe it is the noise of the people passing by she said and smiled..
"That's true" he said and she opened the door as they stepped out but they were surprised by what they saw.
"Jesu (Jesus) Arìké!" he shouted her name
"Baami!" she said surprisingly
"I thought it was only 20 people but what I am seeing is more than that. This is almost half of the village. How are we going to do this? He asked
"Baami, my father will do it" she said as they moved closer to the people. Immediately the people saw her, they kept quiet as Arìké was praying within her. This time around, it was not only the youths and teenagers. Both old and adult were present to hear God's word.
Arìké knew this was the time to introduce Jesus afresh to the people and she prayed to God to help her. She didn't have to worry about how the people are going to sit, because some of them brought their chairs from home and everyone was sitting. She told her father, to lead them in the opening prayers after the praise and worship.
While Arìké was teaching them from the book of John chapter1, God was touching the hearts of people. After the teaching, many people gave their lives to Christ and she prayed for them. She also taught them the significance of prayer. She could not give them anything but they were not bothered. They were all blessed, including her father and they thanked her as they packed some of the chairs that belong to her before going to their various home.
Immediately, Arìké went inside to pray. She was amazed at what God made through her life. After her prayers, she came out and meets her father in the sitting room
"Baami, I didn't know you are still around" she said and sat beside him
"Hadassah, you are a great woman and you are surely going to be great. You are a light and you shall not be hidden, you will surely shine bright. Thank you for giving yourself to God" he said
"Amen baami, thank you for supporting me" she said
"Thank God" she said and looked at the time
"Wow, it's already 6pm. I need to go to the farm, there is no stick for us to cook this night" she said and stood up
"I am coming with you" he said
"No baami. Continue with your study, God will see me through. I am not alone, let me quickly go" she said
"My God will surely be with you" he said
"Amen" she said and went out
