THE KING'S DELIGHT


Part Ten

Arìké did not stop interceding for him. 

Finally, it was the seventh day for the Queen to display her beauty to the people and Arìké father has woken up so early to prepare for the palace.

"How do I look? He asked as he appeared to Arìké. They were not poor nor were they rich but they were satisfied with what they had.

"You look great baami. Aren't you going to eat? She asked

"No, I will do that when I come back. I just want to see the face of the Queen" he said and smiled.

"Okay baa mi. I wish I can follow you but I have some things to attend to" she said

"No problem, I understand. Let me quickly go, I will be right back" he said and left the house


 *HOURS LATER*

Arìké was at the backyard washing and singing, when her father ran inside shouting her name.

"Arìké, leave what you are doing now and follow me" he said sharply

Arìké was scared and asked "Baami, what happened?

The Queen has been rejected because, she refused to come out of chamber when the king called for her. The king was angry and sought for what to do. He paused for a while, as he was panting.

"Take it easy baami" she said 

"Now, he is looking for another replacement for the Queen Abikes position as he has sought for beautiful young virgins. I overheard this and I had to run to pick you. 

Arìké, this is an opportunity for you to dine with kings and also become the Queen. Who knows if this is why God has been keeping you from every guys in the village. Time is not by our side, I want you to follow me now" he said

"Don't I need to take anything? She asked

"Nothing, just follow me. Everything you need will be given to you there. When you get there, do not reveal anything about your background including me, don't tell anybody about me.

Remember, we are not from this village and I don't want you to be disqualified" he said as they left. Though, it has always been the heart desire of Arìké to meet the king.

Getting to the palace, she saw some of the big ladies of the village and one of them said "See Arìké, what is she doing here? They looked at her and laughed because of her dressing.

" Oga o, even the poor desire to be the King's wife" Sekemi one of them said

"She is not really fine o. Let's wait and see. I can't wait for to be disqualified" Aduke said and laughed but Arìké ignored them and prayed within her.

She was taken to the King's house into the custody of Madu, the keeper of women. Though she was late, but she obtained favor in sight of Madu. She quickly gave her the beauty treatment and her food as she assigned 7 maids for her. She moved her and her maid to the best apartment in the chamber.

Every day, her father walked before the chamber to know how Arìké was doing and what was happening to her. The beautification process lasted for a year and it has to be completed before going into the King's palace.

During that one year, Arìké wasn't allowed to see her father. She was only allowed to send letters to him. She also did not stop talking to her Heavenly father. Her maid really loved her and also joined her whenever she was praying and singing.

THE JOURNEY

Last 2 year, I started a journey on my health and I'm grateful. Even though I wasn't consistent especially after the coaching session but I had to strive to ensure the journey continues even though I fall, I still get myself back  Imagine being a lover of heels and you can't wear it for too long Having to sweat profusely, Having knee ache pains, Sewing new dresses because you can't wear your favorite dress Imagine lot's more because of weight gain, That was me.. Before you go further and think it's only food that cause weight gain.  Mine wasn't, I could say it was stay at home, free hands and no stress kind of reason (I don't know how best to put it) I know I'm not a slim person but I was already weighing 110kg.
