Part Four
"E ku irole o(Good evening o). Why are you sitting outside by this time? He asked as he stood in front of her
"Baami, eyin na ni mo nduro de (It is you that I am waiting for)" she said as she stood up
"Ahh..oshey omo mi(Thank you my child). Let's go inside" he said as they entered and locked the door.
"Let me go and get your food and water" she said and went inside
"Woo...Yoo da fun e(it shall be well with you). I am so hungry right now" he said as she brought the food before him
"Hungry? Shey e jeun ni party ni? (Didn't you eat at the party?) And also, how was the party? She asked
"Jeun ke (Eat?). I did not eat anything, I only drank a bottle of Pepsi. You know I didn't have an invitation card; I only went to feed my eyes. The party was great; those kings from the other land were just eating and drinking. My daughter, it is very good to know God and also have money. I could not even see the Queen, because she made a feast for the women too in the palace and you know according to our tradition, you cannot see the Queen until the king chose to announce her. But I heard, she is so fair and beautiful, just like you" he said and smiled as he was eating the food
"Hmmm...yes baami. I pray God favor us, so that we can also dine with the Kings" she said
"Amen. Have you eaten? He asked
" Yes baami. I am feeling sleepy, I want to sleep" she said to him
"So quick? We have to pray o, before you sleep" he said as he finished eating. Arìké cleared the table and they prayed together.
The next day, Arìké woke up so early to do the house chores because she has to meet with her people in the morning. She didn't have any other job, rather than meeting with her people and attending to the home services.
While she was cooking, her father walked up to her
"Arìké mi" he said and greeted her as he praised her. She greeted him and could not stop smiling "E kaaro, baami (Good morning my father)
"Kaaro o, omo mi (Good morning my child) How was your night rest? He asked
"It was fine and yours baami? She asked
"It was also fine. Ku ise(Well done), what should I help you with? He asked
"Nothing o baami. I have fetched water in the bathroom and I am also preparing what we are going to eat" she said
"Thank you my daughter, thank you for taking care of me. God bless you" he said
"Amen" she said
"Let me quickly go and bath. I know you have meeting with your people today, I will also want to join you" he said as he went inside. Arìké was glad as she went outside to set the chairs.
